Chairman, Future Fund and former Australian Treasurer

Mr Costello is the Chairman of the Future Fund, Australia’s sovereign wealth fund, which has $154 billion of assets. He was appointed Chairman for a 5-year term in 2014 and again in 2019. He served as a Federal Member of Parliament from 1990 to 2009 and was the Treasurer for more than 13 years – the longest serving Treasurer in Australia’s history. He has been Chair of the G20 Central Bank Governors and Finance Ministers, the OECD Ministerial Council, the APEC Finance Ministers, and a Governor of the IMF, World Bank and Asian Development Bank. He has served as Chairman of the Independent Advisory Board to the World Bank. Mr Costello is the Chairman of Nine Entertainment Co. and ECG Financial Pty Ltd. He was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2011 for eminent service to the Parliament of Australia through the development of landmark economic policy reforms in the areas of taxation, foreign investment, superannuation and corporate regulation, and through representative roles with global financial organisations.
